Installation Guide

Step-by-step instructions to install CalView in your Salesforce org.

System Requirements

Before installing CalView, ensure your Salesforce org meets these requirements:

  • Salesforce Edition: Enterprise, Unlimited, or Developer Edition
  • Lightning Experience: Must be enabled
  • API Access: Required for package installation
  • User Permissions: System Administrator profile or equivalent
Note: Professional Edition is not supported due to Apex limitations.

Step 1: Download the Package

Download the CalView managed package from your purchase confirmation email or from the license delivery page.

Step 2: Install the Package

  1. Log in to your Salesforce org as a System Administrator
  2. Navigate to Setup → Apps → Packaging → Installed Packages
  3. Click Install a Package
  4. Enter the package installation URL from your download
  5. Click Continue
  6. Select Install for All Users (recommended) or choose specific profiles
  7. Click Install
  8. Wait for the installation to complete (may take a few minutes)

Step 3: Assign Permission Sets

CalView includes two permission sets:

  • CalView_Admin: For administrators who need to create and configure calendars
  • CalView_User: For end users who only need to view calendars

To assign permission sets:

  1. Go to Setup → Users → Permission Sets
  2. Click on CalView_Admin or CalView_User
  3. Click Manage Assignments
  4. Click Add Assignment
  5. Select the users and click Next, then Assign

Step 4: License Activation (Automatic)

Your CalView license activates automatically after successful payment. No manual steps required!

How it works: When you complete checkout on sfcalview.com, your license is immediately linked to your Salesforce Org ID. The next time CalView loads in your org, it will validate automatically with our license server.

Verifying License Status

To confirm your license is active:

  1. Open the CalView Admin app from the App Launcher
  2. Click on License Settings in the navigation
  3. You should see your active license tier (Lite, Standard, or Pro) and subscription status
Subscription Issues? If you see "Invalid License" or "No Active Subscription", ensure your payment is current at sfcalview.com. Sandbox orgs automatically receive Lite tier for testing.

Step 5: Verify Installation

To verify CalView is installed correctly:

  1. Open the App Launcher and search for "CalView"
  2. Click on CalView Admin
  3. You should see the CalView home page with options to create calendars

Next Steps

Now that CalView is installed, you're ready to create your first calendar:

Troubleshooting

Installation fails with "insufficient access rights"

Ensure you're logged in as a System Administrator and your org has API access enabled.

License shows as invalid or subscription not recognized

First, verify your subscription is active at sfcalview.com. If your payment is current but the license still shows as invalid, contact support with your Salesforce Org ID (found in Setup → Company Information).

CalView app doesn't appear in App Launcher

Ensure you have the CalView_Admin permission set assigned to your user.
